Death Of My Soldier

Mourning.
Bereft, lost, confused.
Sadness washed over me like waves crashing onto a beach,
Salt tears pour down my cheeks like rain in a storm,
Heartbroken.
Weeping, sobbing, crying.
Painful memories reignited by the fragrant aroma and velvety petals of lilies like the ones I laid on your grave.
An empty place at out table will never again be filled.
Sacrifice.
Sadness, shock, sorrow,
My heart is a piece of broken glass, shattering as I move,
Your photograph calls me through a glass frame, smiling with an endless, youthful grin.
Haunted.
Memories, anger, futility.
Despair.
