Darkness

In the dark of the night
With strays prowling around
is the eerie feeling
of not wanting to be found

Eyes seem to follow your every step
Ears listening to every private word
Recalling memories of whenever you wept
or everything that ever occurred

The darkness is unwanted
at any time of day
Not when you awake or go to bed
or when you start to decay

So heed my advice
Keep a torch always by your side
For the sneaky mice
can always confide
