Fading Halo

My wings beat fast,
I’m spiralling down.
Falling at last,
without my crown.

My body is caught,
by a warm embrace.
The one that I fought,
has more than one face.

I thought I was in control;
a true divine leader.
Yet someone else has that role,
my personal grim reaper.

I know you as fate,
your will I was evading.
I feel the cold and wait,
for my halo to start fading…
