Never Truth In Dark Shadow

Creeping behind, bound unconditionally.
A cruel mimicry of life.
They chase - Fervently,
Sluggish legs taking away choice.
While swirling fitfully
In and out of consciousness,
They grow more agitated
As they find the day is fruitless.
Their blank faces seek meaning
In the light of the falling stars.
Lank fingers grasp the bars of air and stone.
That smother their cries and pleas.
Forever and eternally blind
To their treasure,
Their truth,
That they will never be free.
