I conserve the right
To be all afright
With any fearsome monsters,
I’ll go under my bed
And hide instead
Of taking them on like a man,
In the mid of the night
I really quite might
Be sleeping out on a lounge.
I know I should face them
But I just wish to erase them
From memory and nightmare,
For now I’ll stick with day
And hide from the stray
Night fright hidden in my dreams.
