Twas England under the pump,
Kevin Pieterson's middle stump,
Had been cannoned out of the ground,
Oh I love that sound,
The Aussies were snapping them like sticks,
They were 8/26,
The next ball was a bouncer,
The bowler, oh what a pouncer,
Yet the ball was hooked,
The batsman looked cooked,
The fielder shouted "MINE!”
Yet stood as still as pine,
So the ball it went for four,
Had England opened a needed door,
Maidens and maidens that’s what followed,
Unfortunately, for England solid full blooded drive a bird had it swallowed,
A yorker Swan missed bowled him for ten,
It was so easy for the Aussie’s it felt like plucking a wren,
That’s how easy it was for Captain Steve Waugh,
There was no fight back from the Poms, they did not let roar,
There then was a single and a dive but in vain,
England’s dreams of Ashes reign,
Were shattered,
BY A FALLING STUMP !!!
