Gunshots still echoing within his head,
As he lays to rest his best friend.
After all the battles and bruises he remembers the day when everything was bliss.
The flashbacks begin with trenches and mud, wounded men dropping by the hundred nothing could be done.
As he stands there in full silence, the flag is raised, to remember the days the soldiers at war.
He is all but tired as he was laid to rest.
At the end of the day he is extremely lucky he left, as he remembers the day on the Kokoda track he wishes he never has to go back.
