To my darling wife and children,
Seeing your tears drip down you’re your face as I left the pontoon was the hardest thing that I ever had to cope with. As we drifted further and further away my sadness grow bigger. It’s a struggle to stand up as waves knock the old and rusty boat back and forth and ice cold water splashes over the sides. I have many different feelings than I had when I set off on this journey. I have sleepless nights thinking about the family. I am most likely not to survive. So I write this letter to give my love to you.
Miss you lots xxxxxx
Joe
