Missing what was never there
Dreading losses never gained
Wishing for days that’ll never come
Cause my past was a dream

Hoping for opportunities
Chances that will change my life
Days that will last for years
And moments that never fade

Holding on to days that fly away
When happiness covers all else
When nothing can hide my smile
No matter what’s underneath

Laughter creates the moment
The moments that remain vivid
Every detail I remember
Joy that’s found in pleasure

Every detail I remember
Every smirk and every smile
I reminisce to bring that smile back
To experience that joy again
