In the dark night the eternal flame would blow
Right on top of the water it will glow
Continually flaming, it represents them all
The soldiers that had fallen proud and tall
We lay poppies and wreaths in bestow
The eternal flame was used for more than a show
Soldiers relied on its bright glow
For their safety, life and all
The eternal flame would blow
And when the sun comes up the flame would grow
Proud and strong, the sorrow is to show
For we will remember what the soldiers had given to fall
What they had done to make sure war would never befall
For the eternal flame would blow
