Recycle
Every Wednesday morning, the
Roar of machinery breaks the silence,
And your former possessions will be
Destroyed, an act of violence.
This can be stopped,
Materials can be used again,
You old ice-cream container could
One day become a kids favourite toy plane.
Your drafted essay sheet may not be worthwhile,
But maybe, in the Prime Minister’s hands
As an all-important documentary file.
Those glass Coke bottles may be a nuisance,
But not when they are transformed and fitted
To see through, and not get
Cold during the winter.
All in the name of saving the environment in style.
