Under the stars, twinkling like diamonds
Lay a great silver mirror that the moon did make
in the breath of night- that was Leona Lake.
With fish as abundant as blades of grass
and pebbles like polished gems
Leona Lake was a slice of pure heaven
Then we came along; discovered the paradise
that place of natural wonder
We speared the fish
Dulled the stones and poisoned the water;
shattered that magnificent mirror
For the sake of gold
That sparkling metal, ignited greed inside
Many people would die for it.
Alas, we are fools
to have destroyed that untouched beauty
The fish swim no longer, the pebbles don't sparkle
Leona Lake is no more....
