Question Of Love

The question asked, what is love?
Is simple in its sound.

The answer, far more complex,
and deeper than the ground.

Love is no simple feat,
and with its joy comes pain.

More suffering than ever known,
as if, the heart is being slain.

The gift of love is only once whole,
and if that trust is used.

The heart is never one again,
one part always feels abused.

Be careful whom you give this gift,
be careful whom you trust.

Make sure their love to you is real,
you have to want it, you must.

The question asked, what is love?
has not been answered here.

To do so I would need some time,
perhaps several of your years.

The moral of this story though,
is not to suffer and cry.

You will find your missing piece one day,
you needn’t even try.
