In a beautiful land of monks and nuns
Of dew soaked grass and winter suns
Where sunlight dapples beneath the trees
And religious folk dabble in monasteries
Where the soft, blue waves lap at the shore
And the smog of the city is no more
In this land of hope and love
You may find a bright white dove
Slender wings so supple and soft
Gracefully hold the body aloft
And in its beak a branch you may see
One from that of an olive tree
In a beautiful land of monks and nuns
Where love is shown and good deeds are done
Hidden in plain sight, ancient and free
Open your eyes, maybe you'll see
