Olivia

Olivia is my beautiful granddaughter who is seven years old.

Olivia has short, chocolate-brown hair which curls in ringlets around her little, heart-shaped face. She has lightly tanned skin and large, blue-green eyes. She also loves the colour pink. Today was Olivia’s seventh birthday. She was celebrating it at the town carnival, which came every year on her birthday. Olivia loved the carnival; all the bright colours, yummy foods and amusement rides filled little Olivia with wonder and excitement. You could see that because everytime we got near the Carnival, she would hear the happy music and start singing and dancing. Today, Olivia, her parents, and I decided to go down to the carnival earlier in the morning because the weather was warm and there were less people present.

You could see the excitement and joy in Olivia’s round, blue eyes as she looked around at the carnival. She loved the colourful entertainers and the many children’s’ rides spread throughout the carnival. This was also the rare occasion where Olivia was aloud to eat Fairy Floss; which was a very special treat as her parents took a lot of care with her perfect, shining-white teeth. It was decided officially the Olivia’s favourite attraction was the pony rides. It was funny to watch little Olivia slowly prancing her way around on a small, brown pony, which had a long, black mane, which had been braided for the celebration. Every time she patted the pony she let out a squeal of excitement, which made everyone laugh.

After many hours of fun and games, the birthday celebration was over. It was sad that it had finished, but it was still great to catch up with my favorite granddaughter. While though the festivities have ended, the memories I have of Olivia will last forever…
