“You can’t do it.”
Oh yes, I can.
“No you can’t.”
I’ll do more than you can in your life span.

He scrutinized my every move, as if I had something to prove: Yet, I didn’t.

I

Savoured the moments
Moved the mountains
Illuminated the darkness
Loved the hated
Eliminated the prejudice
Dreamed the impossible

Yet that didn’t seem to persuade him,
I said: You’ll see.
I wished he would just leave and go,
And let me be me.
