The herb-scented trees and plants
Ancient splintered timber
Rough red cedar trees
Smooth Lily Pillies standing up above
Sand paper leaves watching over
Microscopic ants down below
Along with the lyrebird
And its distinctive calls of beauty
Water gurgling in the creeks crashing into lakes
Rustle of the winds
Travelling swiftly through the trees
Twigs cracking like burning fire
Below the stinging trees with enormous furry leaves
Tiny brown birds devouring miniature insects
Crashing enormous waterfalls
The silent canopy drooping above
Ancient trees barely standing
Like tumbling walls of time-worn Rome
In contrast to the darkness
Light rays bursting through the leaves like splendid fireworks
The rainforest
