When in doubt of where you are,
And when there’s no sight of any car,
And there’s nothing to do,
You have a kangaroo stew.
You put on your old cork hat,
And you feel a little bit fat,
You go on walking through the bush
And your courage, you need to push.
Now you’re a swagman, backpacking through Australia,
So you don’t want to be the only person that’s a failure,
You’ve made it from Perth to past the Simpson Desert,
Now you’re best off hitchhiking, so you better keep alert.
To go into city of Sydney now,
You mustn’t take your only cow
But you’re close to being in,
So you’ll be the one taking home the win.
