He disappeared into the cave. At the back of the cave Joe could see a dim light. He crept forward wondering what it could be.
Joe was 13 and he’d decided to go for a walk in the forest his family owned, when he discovered the cave. He had never noticed it before.
Inside the cave two aliens had landed their oval spaceship. It had a light flashing on its roof. He could make out the shape of two figures in the dim light.
He hid behind a rock and watched. The aliens were talking to each other but Joe couldn’t understand what they were saying.
A little gizmo suddenly fell from the alien’s clothes and rolled over the floor of the cave and landed near Joe’s feet. “What the…?” Joe exclaimed. The gizmo repeated what he said and Joe then knew it was a translator.
He pointed the gizmo towards the aliens and what they were saying came clearly through the gizmo’s speaker.
“The rocks here don’t taste very nice.”
“Let’s try the moon, I hear it’s made of cheese.”
