Falling To Pieces

The rock in someone's life.
Who thought it would be this hard?
As ties begin to break,
I am supposed to stitch them back together.
Like a hole in in your favourite shirt,
It can be fixed but will never be the same again.
Glass breaks but can be replaced,
People are just as fragile, but much more irreplaceable.
We fall, but when picked back up, aren't quite the same.
Too many falls and we're gone.
A rock holds people up,
But can also drag them down.
I am drowning in the problems of others,
I have to fix them but am unable to.
Be the glue,
Hold them together,
That's what people say.
How can it be this hard?
Grasping at invisible threads,
Threads that knit together a friendship,
Relationship,
But they can't.
They are drifting,
Further and further apart until they can't be found at all.
