As their happy smiles turn to grey,
Loved ones die and fade away.
Laughs just cover their teary eyes,
Jagged edges, rugged lives.
Disease and sickness, aches and pains,
No food, no water, drylands, no rains.
No one to help, they're barely living,
No house, no clothes, we must keep giving.
They still stay strong in times of need,
They share their things, not take in greed.
They are true heroes even with a frown,
They won't give up and never go down.
They are true souls with a golden heart,
But they're miserable lives are falling apart.
