Loneliness like a lone dolphin at the zoo
Pain like you were burning at the stake
Grief like a mother for her dead child
A hole in your heart that can never be filled
Loss

Sadness like a tree with no leaves
Longing like a bird for freedom
Wishing like a child on a star
Wanting better times
Nostalgia

Darkness like the never-ending night sky
Life is like falling forever through an abyss
Trapped like a bird in its cage
Constantly woebegone and miserable
Depression

Numb like you're under anesthetic
Alone like a single flower in the desert
Not complete like a rose without its petals
Doing anything to fill this abyss
Emptiness
