There's a mother lying in the dirt, her children crying at her hurt
while you stand there, saying you don't care
There's a war in play in Africa, those gunnings in America
can you stand there, saying you don't care?
There's a child asleep, she's freezing cold, scars on her back both new and old
how can you stand there, saying you don't care?
There's a boy who loves to run each day, he wishes he could run away
and you stand there, saying you don't care
There's a city drowning in it's wealth, another devoid of it's health
yet you stand there, saying you don't care
There's a man who hates most anything, he lives to cause death and suffering
still you stand there, saying you don't care
This world teems with all kinds of life, we all have suffering and strife
but none more so than you and me, because you still refuse to see
Your profit comes from other's pain, what is it that you stand to gain
when you stand there, telling me you don't care
The sky is cloudless tonight, the stars are cold and icy white
Can you stand beneath those stars today, and throw those other lives away
