Amongst the serenity I lay,
Nestled between the bushes as I gaze into the cloudless azure sky.
I am immune, immune to the unceasing war, the dire fear felt by millions,
I refuse to coexist with the government when it has been tainted by corruption,
The malice grins of executives,
Forcing laborious tasks on workers in order of wealth.
Third world countries are in their time of need in this famine, yet nothing is done about it.
Our race has developed a feeble amount of respect and etiquette towards one another,
Now in the world's darkest days we take awareness, yet nothing is done.
I lurch forward onto my knees,
I look at the pristine river beating steadily,
I look at the verdure hills and plants, as well as the lush trees,
The birds begin to sing their melody and I couldn't be more content with my surroundings.
