What seemed to last a lifetime
Devoured all of two years.
It split us, it combined us,
It gave life to my greatest fears.
Wave after wave, like the shore
We were battered by a tsunami,
Defenceless against the fury
Of a storming competitor.
In the end, though, faith prevailed,
And led to the upper hand.
A united front is stronger than a single;
Together we accomplished victory!
Overwhelming joy!
We have conquered the beast,
The unseen beast, vanquished.
