One Day, We'll Se It Through

This is the start of what we will never see through
The beginning of a lie that won't ever bring truth
It's for the triumph at the end of a riveting story
For the riches and wealth and all the world's glory.
This is the war that is never won,
This is the soldier and his gun

This is what the world has become
A people fighting for themselves alone
Gone are the days we fought for our heart and soul
Now, our men fight for the rich man's gold
This is the war that will never be tamed
This is a mother crying for her son in pain

This is for the gun shots and blasts that go flying
It is for the dead and for those who lay dying
This is for those who did not survive the war
Who were the only ones to see the end of the terror.
This is the world fighting for justice
But the answer lies hidden in the guns, the tears, prayers and promises.

This is the war for peace and for unity
For happiness and wealth and a world wide community
But for some reason, unknown to everyone
This war is fought using tactics, bombs and guns.

This war has been raging since nineteen fourteen
When men fought men for their country to reign supreme
Just for that, and for nothing more
The violence raged on and our men, boys, died in the war
Still to this day just shy of 100 years on
The rich are still fighting to be the dominant one

The super powers of the world are insistent to fight
And argue and banter and continue their plight
While those of us here who go on with our lives
Hope for the day that world peace arrives.
Ambitious, we know, but belief will bring truth
This is the war that, one day, we'll see through.
