A Flower's Prayer

In a field of many, where I first started to grow,
In prayer of the rain, in fear of the snow.
Soon to be picked for some gazing eyes to see;
Joy to a loved one, but death to me.
Jewellery, candy, so many things you could give;
A card, silk flowers, for these things do not live.
But, things full of life are meant to be free.
My beauty is for all, so please let me be.
Deep in the ground my roots they grow strong,
But in a vase on a table I will not last long.
Let me cherish the sun, and the air that we share,
Respect towards others is the real way to show that you care.
