Candlight

Flickering, inconstant glow,
stands upon the edge of life
braving is abundant foes.

Wavering in a pool of ruin
steadily it grows.

Until with ceasless quivers,
stands tall and proud;
flows in undulating rivers.

Singly it fronts despair
and banishes what frightens.

All alone amongst the void
and in the darkness, brightens.
