Hail Storm

The rain tip-toed across the roof
as it whispered calming messages into our mind
The thunder gave a silent roar
as it rolled in from the distance

The hail jumped around
happy to reach the earth
Lightning zapped the dark cloudy sky
and strobed for a little longer

Trees moaned and groaned
as the rough wind pushed them out of the way
Leaves ran down to the ground
falling into the snapping creek of water below

The lights blinked into the darkness
as they died away
Leaving only a dancing flame
providing light for the room
