Glistening diamonds
Falling from a blanket of sorrow
Soft tears, transparent beads
Strung on silver wires
Sharp and bright as ice tipped arrows
Like shooting stars
Against the black velvet sky
Illuminating flashes of purple lightning
Crystal jewels
Descending from the weeping clouds
Sliding down the window panes
Slicing through the air like jagged glass
Shattering on the hard,
Pitiless, sodden ground
Exploding into a thousand droplets
Falling down again like glitter
