I see you standing there.
Tears streaming down your face.
I feel for him, but worse for you.
You don't know until deaths on the chase.

It's impossible to know,
Until they're gone.
How much they didn't show.
Until their life has worn.

His life wasn't long.
You never figure out why.
Then you realised you were wrong.
With no chance to say goodbye.

You say it's not fair.
That you don't deserve it,
But life's not fair,
And this is yours.
