Sonnet: Reason is Clouded by the Mist of Dreams
Reason is clouded by the mist of dreams
Much like the heavens concealing the sun:
Where logic is forgotten, and its beams
Devoured in the lining that silver runs:
And if lovely is the forbidden fruit
That one cannot, for all one's power, hate -
And for all one's restraint, cannot stay mute;
And for all one's conflicts, cannot forsake:
And though reason the mind may fain accept,
The heart's plaintive wails must pause decision;
And to logic must pay the painful debt
Even though now the mind lacks precision.
Too soon, too soon; I cannot yet forsake
This love for thee. I cannot yet awake.
