Elizabeth's Boat

Elizabeth's boat, it did not float
And very forlorn was she,
For if Elizabeth's boat, it did not float
Then how could she sail the sea?
Elizabeth named this fine little boat
'Elizabeth Grace the eighth'
But if Elizabeth's boat, it did not float,
Then all would have gone to waste.
Elizabeth's brother found her and the boat
A pitiful sight when they met,
As he marched to the tool shed he mumbled aloud,
"It shan't be over yet!"
So Elizabeth's brother inspected the boat
And very observant was he,
For then before long, he found in the hull
A hole that would let in the sea.
He hammered and nailed, and nailed and hammered
And laboured for hours did he,
And finally after those hours of work
Elizabeth sailed the sea.
