A Dream World

Though my body's tired, my mind won't sleep.
I'm stuck in an ocean, my minds blue deep.
To be stuck in my head is such a curse,
And my minds Utopia makes it worse.
The flowers sway and the sun is bright.
My minds world has an eternal light.
The birdies and beasties come straight to my hand.
Its Peter Pan's fabled Never land.
The people are good and that makes them a bore.
Even though it's beautiful, I still want more.
Each end every time things will go my way,
But it's not how I want to spend my days.
I want the danger of a world not cloaked in dreams.
An imperfect world bursting at the seams.
Without the pain for the gain of a life interesting,
What like would I have, of which to sing?
