The river was going past in a silent flow
Sparkling brilliantly from the moon glow
This stream, it was a giraffe sleeping
It's long neck stretching out, creeping
It was like a long winding snake
The moon seemed to smile down on me
As I sat quietly against a tree
I could smell the early morning air
And see the sunlight flowing through my hair
The sun is coming, I thought
The moon was leaving us, for another night
And the sun was coming up to make it bright
A deer jumped by like a majestic frog
Gracefully leaping over a fallen log
The sun, was now shining at full extent
I stood up to head to the town
The houses made the city line, but all were dull and brown
As I ran the trees blew like paper
And I knew God was making this so, the almighty shaper
I reached my house and opened the door
A swan was in the lake near me
It was an Ice Skater, elegant was she
As I stepped inside, like a mouse,
I heard something moving in the house
Was it my mother or father?
No, it was the family dog,
Eager to leave and go for a jog
I closed the door, like a prison guard, so the animal, named Rocks, had no escape
Inside, it was warm, so I took off my cape.
I carefully walked up the stairs, and looked back down on Rocks
He was gone, out a window, and into the street
The cheeky dog had gone behind my back and now he had me beat
I would look for him later, for now I was very sleepy
And I would now sleep any place, even ones that were creepy
I laid down in my soft bed and tried to drift off to sleep
But just before I slipped away
I looked out my window onto the bay
The shining silvery sea
Was as beautiful as can be
Then, after Daybreak, I fell into a deep sleep
