The night was dark and quiet,
There was not an ounce of light.
Here I look down the alley,
No-one is here tonight.
I had met him in the back of my garden,
He was hidden in the tomato vines.
He had been running from the law,
Because he couldn't pay a fine.
It was 12 months since I found him,
And he was still running from the law.
I has suspicions he was guilty of another crime,
But what is was I wasn’t sure.
Well he was in the alley that night,
In a place hidden from me.
He'd been mugged and killed by gangsters,
But I know I will never forget Lee.
