God sent us an angel,
To look after us and care.
The angel made us better people,
And made life easier to bear.
But a few days ago God sent our angel a letter,
Summoning him away.
Because our angel’s time was up,
Much to our dismay.
We had to let our precious angel go,
Up to the sky where he would roam.
God had called our little angel,
He was returning home.
But there was a second part to God’s long letter,
It said our angel was to stay.
In all our hearts and minds,
Our angel never went away.
He sits up there above us,
Watching out again.
Just as he did in flesh and blood,
But now without his pain.
