Excellence Award in the 'Dream Big 2013' competition

People said they were extinct, people said they died.
People said there not coming back, I say people lied.
This creature has a reputation of being a natural pest.
But they don’t know the inner being and they don’t know the rest.
So what a few sheep lost.
There’s more every day.
But I guess people back then,
would rather a good days pay.
It has jaws that could make a devil jealous and as slippery as a snake.
It has back legs like kangaroos
and stripes that complete the make.
But people were at large, with tiger-hunting schemes.
And people said,‘It needs die so it cannot be seen.
’So as the years went by, tigers were hunted down.
And as soon as the word got out,
there wasn’t one in town.
Rifles, dogs and traps sent them to their grave.
But that is something that I’m not sure of.
Answers I do crave.
People say witnessed, the tiger in plains,
but every body else thinks it’s completely insane
So now my theory is now said,
so what do you think alive or dead?
