I am a Target
It started when I was 6, and still continues today (1)
People think it’s funny, to call all others ‘gay’. (2)
Mum said, “Don’t worry sweetie, it will be just fine”. (3)
“But mum”, I said, "Isn’t bullying a crime?” (4)
I’m 13 now and I’m scared to go to school (5)
I haven’t told the teachers, maybe I’ll play it cool (6)
In 8th Grade, the boys began hitting me (7)
They pushed me down stairs and I broke my left knee (8)
In now in year 10 and my legs no longer work (9)
I don’t think people realise how much words hurt (10)
Mrs Smith came and spoke to me about what’s been going on (11)
I told her about my story but it seemed like it was too long (12)
I write this to you as I sit locked in my room (13)
I think it’s time to say goodbye I can no longer resume (14)
I’d like to let you know bullying takes people’s lives (15)
Stop those victims from picking up the knives… (16)
