One Strange Word

"Supercalafragalistickespealadocious"
It was the weirdest word
Ever so long
And almost completely absurd
As she sat and told me it
With a look so serious
I just had to ask myself
"Is she delirious?"
Her expression suddenly turned shocked
As she waited for my comment
For to her surprise
My voice remained dormant
I said nothing for a while
Trying to say how I felt, the right way
Without bending the truth
Without leaving her at bay
I just had to smile and lie
"The best word ever, I promise"
But as she gestured for me to stand
My legs just felt like hummus
With a break in my smile
And sweat trickling down my head
I just knew the lie inside me bled
