War Is Misunderstood Love

The tsunami of memories hit her
She felt unable to speak her mind
She stuttered helplessly on muted thoughts
But she managed to rip a lie
From the dark corners of her mind
Everything she built that night
Was meant to be destroyed
Every piece of her was consumed by a wounded heart
Though she yearned for the stinging touch of love
Even though she knew how much it hurt
So she surrendered herself
To the war that raged within her soul
She knew she had scarred him
No apologies were spoken
At the end of the war she could see
He was broken
