The holidays have finally come, Let your mind be free and get ready for some fun! What joy I find with family and friends, Gatherings of love and laughter that never end! Picnics and barbecues in the local park, The scent of sizzling sausages waft through till dark! Ducking through sea waves and floating so free, Till Mum beckons with ice-cream from a shady tree!
Running to Mum, dry grains grip my feet, I know for sure that I’m no longer neat! But who cares about that when I’ve got an ice-cream to snatch, As its dribbles are licked like a hungry cat! Caramel chocolate fudge slides, In gulps down my throat and insides! Oh summer so long how I wish it never ends, but alas I must return to school-
and be with my friends!
