Her little green eyes look at the door
Waiting for somebody to open it.
Licking her lovely brown and white paw,
Her whiskers and tail,
twitching ever so slightly.
She sees her tin and spoon
She licks her lips and meows,
a very quiet and soft meow
The only other sound her bell jingling.
She hears a loud crack and twitches her ear,
She ponders, “What was that?”
Then she sees her owner with the tin in her hand
But this time it is open.
Her delicate jaw eats the flesh raw
She tears at her food, She purrs with delight
And gives me a slight wink of satisfaction.
