I have a box of memories,
It’s stored beneath my bed.
And when I’m feeling sad and lonely,
He pops up his head and says;
“I remember when you smiled.
I remember when you laughed.
I remember when your hair was blonde and curly,
And your favourite thing to eat was a chocolate ice-cream swirly.
“I remember when you grazed your knee,
I even remember when you climbed your first tree.
I remember every thing you’ve done,
And I will remember everything that is still to come.”
I thanked the box kindly and put him safely back.
It’s comforting to know that he’s always keeping track.
