In 49 BCE a man named Julius Caesar,
Made plans to change tradition.
With his army reforms, he was quite the achiever,
This would help him with his mission.
Caesar was an ambitious man,
Whose motive are debated if sweet or sour,
Crossing the Rubicon, his army ran,
Marching on Rome seizing ultimate power.
He became Romes leading dictator,
The republic had seen reformed.
However, his success brought many haters,
To caesur, 30 stabbings were performed.
After caesur, Octavian rose wanting his glory,
The civil wars still remained.
Through battles that were extremely gory,
From a republic to an empire it had been changed.
