Change was imminent
Romes Republic poised to fall
Civil war was evident
At the army generals call
Romes people were dying
Chaos stole patrician’s power
The senate couldn’t stop crying
Pompey's view turned sour
With all enemies defeated
Emperors rose to power
The people rejoiced
Rome would once again prosper
Romans stand in line
Oligarchy sways the vote
Marius is running for the seventh time
Elected by the people
