Battle Field

Love is a battle zone
Where you fight alone
Against the heart and the mind
The honest and the kind

It is to the heart you turn
If you want to discern
The things that feel right
And those out of sight

The brain sees
What the heart believes
And it knows the lies
The heart denies

But the heart can live
With more to give
Less to regret
And none to forget.
