"Patience is a virtue," said the philsopher,
"Patience young one," praise the grasshopper.
"Good comes to those who wait," anonymous said,
"Time will only tell," the sincere book read.
Frantic nail biting and tapping of the shoe,
Yet you were the one who always knew,
The bell struck loudly as if on cue;
And the dark complexity of my skin turned blue.
Now patience is only to dwell,
Those quotatious fellows only knew too well,
That patience is worth a smile,
Even if you have to wait a while.
