One Way Out

She can’t handle the light,
She craves the silence in the dead of the night.
No one seems to care,
No one is ever there.
She fakes a smile,
Filled with denial.
She wishes that one day,
It will all be at bay.
No more tears,
No more fears.
Teary eyes,
She lived a life of lies.
Her secret is out,
All that’s left is doubt.
She slashed her thighs,
Her last thought being ‘everyone dies.’
The scars will always remain,
A reminder of the pain.
But as the darkness consumes what’s left of her mind,
All that’s left is her body to find.
