Water

I held my rifle close to my chest. The sounds of firearms was getting deafening. You could just hear the sounds of boots crunching on the gravel and the cries of the fallen. My breathing was heavy, as I crouched behind my block of cover. We all knew this was going to happen. We knew that our final war would be over clean water. I stood and ran to another cover point. Leaning over I let off a round of bullets that showered people in blood. I quickly reloaded waiting for more bullets to come my way.
“I will not let myself get shot”, I told myself. If that were to happen there would be no hospitals to be able to recover. I reached behind my backpack to find my sniper rifle. Still crouching I scurried to the nearest building so I could try to rest. But rest was not there. An alliance had formed inside and next thing I knew I was diving behind sandbags as a rain of bullets hurtled my way. I pulled out a grenade and pulled the pin letting it ‘cook’. After about 3 seconds I threw it, the force sending men flying everywhere. In the confusion I managed to escape. But just as I was about to lay down I was shot in the shoulder. I flung myself backwards and lay still faking my death. I lay there not moving a muscle when I was grabbed and stabbed with a needle that injected a fluid into my arm. I passed out only seeing the words on his jacket
W.A.T.E.R
I awoke with my arms tied to a table by thick black straps. A short man that barely looked over 25 was looking over me. Next to him was another guy that looked much older perhaps about 50 something.
“What am I doing here?” I grumbled. “Who are you guys?”
“Well,” the older man started. “We are the Western Army for The Extraction of Rainwater.”
“As for what you’re here for” the other man continued. “We want you to go on a secret mission to collect all the water you can from the Pacific Ocean.”
“What does that have to do with rainwater?” I asked.
“We wanted our emblem to say W.A.T.E.R that’s all and we’re not western we are more southern.”
“Also why is it so hard, why can’t you do it yourself?”
“Well the Pacific is heavily guarded and I mean HEAVILY, and we found out how to make clean water from salty water.” He explained. “You start tomorrow.” I was injected by the same fluid as before, I was struggling to keep my eyes open and eventually I passed out
